The Energy Saving Trust was established as part of the government’s response to the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The Energy Saving Trust helps citizens cut their carbon dioxide emission by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy in the home as well as in transport. The Trust no longer receives direct grants from Government and operates as a social enterprise with a charitable Foundation.
