Description:
The Climate Change Strategy sets out where Wales need to act to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that Wales produces. It also explains how Wales will prepare for the impacts of climate change.

The Strategy addresses:

  • the current scientific evidence about climate change and the impacts that might be expected in Wales and across the world
  • the need for urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and to prepare for the impacts of climate change
  • the role of Wales in leading and supporting action on tackling climate change, and the roles of other organisations in taking action
  • how the Strategy supports Sustainable Development Scheme, ‘One Wales: One Planet’, and how both together will help deliver the vision of Wales in the year 2050
  • and the key target to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 3% per year in control areas.
