Description:

Under the energy management scheme introduced by the Energy Efficiency Law (EE Law) for the industry and building sectors, the number of certified energy managers has presently reached approx. 4600. Energy managers have been assigned in 740 industrial establishments and in 674 commercial buildings and energy management units have been established in 25 organized industrial zones as of May 2012. In order to disseminate the energy efficiency services all over the country through energy efficiency consultant companies, evaluation of the companies which want to obtain the authorization certification to carry out services such as organization of energy manager training, making energy audits, preparing energy efficiency projects and consultancy are ongoing. Authorizations have been initiated for universities, chambers of engineers and energy consultant companies.  Two chamber of engineers, 1 university and 37 consultancy companies are authorized as of 2009.            

 

                                                                 

Amended:

By-Law on Improving Energy Efficiency for the Utilisation of Energy Resources and Energy by the Ministry Energy and Natural Resources (Official Gazette: 27 October 2011, no 28097) has been amended so as to increase the amount of financial support and modify the structure of Energy Consultancy Companies .

ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard has been adopted  by Turkish Standard Institute on 11 June 2011 as Turkish standard and certification has been started. By-Law on Improving Energy Efficiency for the Utilisation of Energy Resources and Energy by the Ministry Energy and Natural Resources (Official Gazette: 27 October 2011, no 28097) has been amended so as to implement this standard in Energy Management implementations.  

A comminique on efficiency calculation of cogeneration and micro cogeneration facilities was issued in OG dated September 18, 2014.
