Description:A special investment support for energy efficiency and renewable energy in public buildings was established in 2005. Funding was made available for up to 30% of costs for various types of energy efficiency and energy source conversion. Incentives were also provided for the installation of solar PV. Investment support was not provided for measures that were profitable in the short-term, were part of regular activity, required by legislation or part of the building construction. Measures that contributed to a worsened indoor environment were also excluded. For the installation of solar cells, the scheme supported investment in the form of a tax reduction covering up to 70% of the installation cost, up to maximum of SEK 5 million/50 000 per building. This portion of the scheme had cap of SEK 100 million, corresponding to 2-3 MW in additional capacity. Total support under the scheme was limited to SEK 10 million per building. The scheme also applies to owners of commercial premises that are used primarily for public purposes.
