The Swedish government works with industry to gain experience in building wind farms in difficult areas such as offshore or mountain locations. An amount of SKR 350 million (about EUR 38.6 million) was designated for such activities for the years 2003-2007.
In 2007, the programme was extended to 2012, with funding of SEK 350 million for the five year period 2008-2012. This measure formed part of the Market introduction of Wind Power/Funding for Wind Power Pilot Projects (see separate entry).
