Energy Efficiency Description:

The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade with IDAEs support co-ordinates audits and energy efficiency actions developed with Autonomous Communities, Entrepreneurial Associations and Firms. Through this joint co-ordination, aid from the Administration is channelled to finance energy audits in beneficiary sites, whose number is estimated to be 260 for the period 2008-2012. The execution of energy audits determines the energy saving potential in the firms wherever they take place. Moreover, they facilitate decision making in relation to energy saving investments, and will also help to establish benchmarking of the audited processes. The energy audits to be developed in the 2008-2012 period under the new Action Plan involve a continuity of the included ones in the former Action Plan, and they are expected to reinforce the performance of the objectives set forth in Strategy E4 for the industrial sector.
