Energy Efficiency Description:

In 2000, the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced the establishment of a new central energy efficiency agency that will be responsible for implementing energy efficiency policy and programmes, and for increased use of new renewables. The new body will be established in 2001 taking over from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Administration (NVE). It will also be given responsibility for work at present carried out through the regional Energy Efficiency Centres.

The new body was established in 2001, taking over some of the responsibilities of the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Administration (NVE).
