Renewable Energy Description:

Up until June 2012 EECA administered grants for solar water heaters as part of several residential programmes with different criteria for participation. In 2010/11 and 2011/12 a small number of grants for heat pump water heaters were included. The programme was terminated because while the quality of the solar water heating systems improved during the course of the programme, the prices did not come down enough to make it cost effective for consumers.
