Description:As a member of the Group for Energy Efficienct Appliances, the Dutch government seeks to contribute to the establishment of a uniform European-wide scheme on voluntary informative activities. The GEEAs scheme - is dynamic i.e. the criteria are revised regularly in close cooperation with industry involved (e.g. EICTA). - promotes approximately 25% of all models available on the European market. - is voluntary: participation does not commit industry to use the GEEA label or promote those models meeting the GEEA criteria. - has no financial consequences for industry partners. Through the GEEA, the Dutch government implements informative campaigns according to the characteristics of the Netherlands consumer market. To allow the consumer to make an informed choice, the GEEA sponsors a recognisable label and a database of comparative efficiency standards.
