Description:

The Dutch government has extended proposed subsidies for small-scale biomass to installations of large generation capacity. Earlier subsidy levels will remain intact, with a distinction made between units producing less than 10 MW and those generating between 10-50MW. Falling under the MEP Scheme, the subsidies apply from 6 October 2005, for 2006 and 2007. Only new biomass installations qualify for funding. Subsidies for bio-oil-fired plants of less than 10 MW will receive €0.097 per kWh, while larger units will receive €0.06 per kWh generated. For all other types of biomass, the subsidy remains €0.097 per kWh.
