On 30th June 2004, a law providing wide-ranging support measures for SMEs was introduced.
Article 4 of the law outlines investment grants provided to SMEs in the fields of environmental protection and the rational use of energy. So as not to duplicate the provisions of the law of 22 February 2004 targeting the industrial sector (see separate entry), the law explicitly excludes industrial sector enterprises.
The law provides for both material and non-material investments, such as licences as patents, as well as non-patented knowledge and training.
