Description:

For structures other than houses, the voluntary "Environment and Energy Friendly Building Mark" system, initiated in March 1999, indicates the level of energy conservation performance above a certain standard. It is operated by IBEC under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). The target buildings are offices, shops that sell goods, hotels, hospitals, schools, restaurants, community halls, factories, etc. The label can be applied to both new and already constructed buildings. There is no limit for scale of the building. The application should be made by submitting the following documents:

1. Energy conservation plan,

2. Report of the implementation of energy conservation actions and measures,

3. Calculation document on energy conservation.

Based on the review of the submitted documentation, the administrator determines the rank which is categorized into 5 ranks.
