The Italian government has published its national allocation plan (NAP) for carbon dioxide emissions under the EU-Emissions Trading Scheme. The NAP is to allocate 239.9 MtCO2 for 2005, 240.6 MtCO2 for 2006 and, 241.6 MtCO2 for 2007. The new entrants reserve is to be taken from the allocations to the sectors, according to expected growth. The Italian NAP must wait for European Commission approval before entering into force.
