The General transport Plan (PGT), revised every three years, sets out national transport objectives. In accordance with these objectives, Regional Transport Plans are to be developed by regional authorities, Urban Traffic Plans (PUT) and Urban Mobility Plans (PUM) by municipal authorities, and mobility plans by companies with over 300 employees. The primary goals of the 2001 PGT are bridging the gap between transport supply and demand and improving economic efficiency and environmental effectiveness.
