Energy Efficiency Description:

Under the Economic and Social Infrastructure Operational Programme of the National Development Plan 2000-2006 that became effective in 2000, £ 146 million was made available for the development and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives. In the energy sector, a key priority in the National Development Plan will be to identify those areas of expenditure which will assist Ireland in complying with its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol to the UN Convention on Climate Change.
