Description:

The EUs A to G labelling scheme for household goods is to be extended for electric refrigerators, freezers and their combinations from 2004 to reflect improvements in energy efficiency achieved by manufacturers. From 2004, the best-performing fridges and freezers will carry labels showing efficiency to be A+ or A++. The Member States will have until the end of 2004 to comply with the new labelling obligations. The original scale was launched in 1994.
