Description:The Danish Parliament decided to increase the energy tax on natural gas from 1 January 2000 to a level corresponding to approximately 85% of the energy tax on fuel oil. In addition, implementing a decision taken by the Parliament in 1998, taxes on other fuels were also increased: gasoline (3.73 DKK/litre to 3.85 DKK/litre), diesel (2.52 DKK/litre to 2.75 DKK/litre), diesel light (2.34 DKK/litre to 2.57 DKK/litre), fuel oil (1.91 DKK/kg to 1.95 DKK/kg), coal (1250 DKK/ton to 1300 DKK/ton), electricity (0.481 DKK/kWh to 0.536 DKK/kWh).
