In March 2000, the Danish government launched "Climate 2012" that provides an overall view of Danish climate change policy and is intended to prepare for ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. The steps by which the Danish government will meet its obligations are outlined. These steps include: submitting an action plan for the transport sector; updating the energy action plan "Energy 21"; establishing a programme on the Kyoto mechanisms; and determining future regulation of industrial greenhouse gases.
