Climate Change Description:SaskPower - a provincially-owned corporation - is proceeding with plans to developp a 150-megawatt (MW) Wind Power Project in the southwest corner of the Saskatchewan province. This project is part of SaskPowers Green Power portfolio, which was developed to ensure that all of Saskatchewants new electricity needs until 2010 are met from environmentally friendly sources, whose operations do not add to greenhouse gas emission. Construction will begin in October 2004 with upgrades to municipal road construction. SaskPower International has awarded the turbine supply and installation contract to Vestas-Canadian Wind Technology, Inc. Expected completion date is December 2005.
