|Climate Change Description:|
Reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by Canadas major emitters is mandatory since March 2004. In the first phase, only facilities that emit more than 100 kilotonnes of GHGs per year are required to report. This requirement lays the foundation for the mandatory reporting system that will need to be developed by 2008 for the Large Final Emitters program. Initial reports of GHG emissions for 2004 are due June 2005.
