Energy Efficiency Description:The Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP), established in July 2001, aims to increase the energy efficiency of newly- constructed buildings used for manufacturing and other industrial activities. IBIP will offer an incentive, primarily in the form of information programming, to companies building new industrial facilities to offset additional design costs inherent in the initial attempts at energy-efficient design. IBIP is expected to result in an annual reduction of about 0.1 megatonnes in GHG emissions by 2010.
Climate Change Description:The Industrial Buildings Incentive Program (IBIP) will increase the energy efficiency of new manufacturing and industrial buildings by modifying owners expectations about energy performance and the response of designers to those expectations.
