Description:

The Energy Efficient Housing Initiative aims to promote the construction and purchase of more energy-efficient, environmentally responsible housing and the energy-efficient renovation of existing housing. Builders will be encouraged to build houses that are more energy-efficient, based on the R-2000 Home Standard and, through procedures established by NRCans EnerGuide for Houses, home-owners and other participants in the housing market can obtain and use assessments of the energy performance of new and existing homes to assist their decision-making.
