Description:The Advanced Energy Technologies for High Temperature Processes Programme (effective in 1999) conducts R&D on coke-making and pulverised coal injection on behalf of Canadian coal and steel producers. Activities include improving the energy efficiency of the iron making process, supercoke, extending coke oven life, mineral additions to improve coke quality and pulverised coal injections. Computer modelling capabilities for blast furnace optimisation are also developed.
