Renewable Energy Description:

British Columbia wants to facilitate the development of distributed clean electricity generating projects in British Columbia to support its goal of self-sufficiency and help promote B.C. innovation. This electricity policy directs BC Hydro to develop a program, in consultation with stakeholders, to purchase, continuously or in regular offer windows, electricity from projects with a capacity of 10 MW or less. The Standing Offer will allow small projects to sell power to BC Hydro at a fixed price and with standard contract terms and conditions.

Amended:

As of August 2016, BC Hydro advised that all potential SOP applicants that BC Hydro have received sufficient SOP applications to fill the remaining available SOP energy volume for Target Commercial Operation Date (COD) up to the end of calendar year 2019. Price and volume beyond 2019 are currently under review and both the price and volume may change post 2020. As a result, we will continue to receive and review applications, after the date of this notice, but will not assign any volume for year 2020 and beyond for the SOP until the price and target volume post 2020 Target CODs are determined by BC Hydro with input from Clean Energy BC.
