Climate Change Description:

Drive Electric Program

The Drive Electric Program offers a purchase/lease rebate for Quebec individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and municipalities that want to acquire an eligible vehicle. In 2013, the rebate that was granted varied from $4,500 to $8,000 for entirely electric vehicles and rechargeable hybrids. Anyone who purchased or rented an electric vehicle can also apply for financial assistance, as part of this program, for purchasing and installing a 240-volt charging station at their home.

Connected at Work Program

The Connected at Work Program offers a reimbursement for companies, municipalities or organizations for installing charging stations at the workplace. The financial assistance provided is the lesser of 75% of eligible expenses or $15,000.

Transportation Electrification Strategy

The policy aims to put a primary focus on electric transportation, including electric light-duty vehicles and public transit, and to promote development of the industrial electrification sector.
