PROCEL GEM - Municipal Energy Management collaborates with the municipal administrator, the management and efficient use of power consuming units connected to the city. Its goal is to improve the management of electricity (purchasing, maintenance, and tariff review), identify opportunities for saving energy, reducing waste, using more efficient equipment shown, and greater awareness of the efficient use of energy by users.

PROCEL GEM aims to contribute to the strengthening of municipal competence in the management of electrical energy, and energy conservation at the local level.

The actions are based on the following guidelines:

  • Plan for the Management of Electrical Energy in Municipalities
  • Disseminate information and technical training to local governments
  • Reduce the waste of electricity
  • Extend the life of the facilities and equipment with appropriate management actions and maintenance
  • Introduce more efficient equipment and systems that contribute to the improvement and preservation of the environment
  • Highlight the Municipalities efficient in their regions
  • Improve quality of life
