The main objective of the PROCEL Industry is to promote the adoption of efficient best practices by the industrial sector as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. The programme today focuses particularly on measures for optimising motor driven systems. Motors account for the largest electricity consumption and potential for electricity savings in the industrial sector.

Under this programme, Eletrobras has worked in partnership with 12 industry federations to build capacity for 206 multipliers and 2,907 industry agents that resulted in the implementation of energy efficiency efforts in industrial motor-driven systems.

This programme has also supported the implementation of a network of 13 laboratories to optimize motor-driven systems in 11 states.  Eletrobras also collaborates with the association for small and medium enterprises (SEBRAE) to promote energy efficiency efforts in different states and encourage the enhancement of sector productivity and quality.
