|Climate Change Description:|
(3 March) 2005 - 2007: Revising figures submitted to 2004s Belgian National Allocation Plan, the Flanders region allocated allowances of 102.9 MtC02 to Flemish firms, a figure representing a slight majority of the nations emissions allowances. The yearly industrial allocation listed last year shrunk to17.8 MtCO2 from firms opting-out of emissions trading and an adjustment of calculated production growth in the pulp and paper industry. The Flemish energy sector now receives a revised annual allocation of 15.7 MtCO2. The New Entrant Reserve remained intact at 1.519 MtCO2 over the three years of emissions trading.
