IEA work showcased at World Economic Forum
24 January 2015
The IEA Chief Economist, Dr. Fatih Birol, was in Davos, Switzerland, from 20-24 January for the World Economic Forum’s 45th Annual Meeting. He participated in numerous private and public sessions and held bilaterals with policy makers and business leaders from around the world. The event provided a good opportunity to showcase the work the IEA is doing to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy.
Dr. Birol is pictured participating in a session on “The Geo-Economics of Energy”, which also included President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania (right), Secretary-General Abdalla Salem El-Badri of OPEC, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich of the Russian Federation, President and Chief Executive Officer Khalid A. Falih of Saudi Aramco, Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi of Eni SpA, and Vice-Chairman Daniel Yergin of IHS.
