IEA Chief Economist awarded by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister

Iraqi Ambassador to France, Fareed Yasseen (shown) on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Al-Shahristani and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Zebari presented IEA Chief Economist Fatih Birol with two special awards in appreciation of the work Dr. Birol and the World Energy Outlook his team carried out for the Iraq Energy Outlook in 2012. "It is a great honour to receive these awards," Dr. Birol said in his acceptance speech, adding, "I have worked on many projects through my career, but this has been a very special one. The Iraq Energy Outlook, I am happy to say, has become a reference piece whenever industry, policy makers and experts consider Iraq."
