Focus on fossil fuel subsidies for G20

IEA Executive Director Nobuo Tanaka attended the Group of 20 Finance Ministers and Central Governors Meeting on 23 April in Washington to participate in the discussions on the implementation of the G20 Pittsburgh mandate to phase out inefficient fossil fuel subsidies.
This session drew on the Joint Report that prepared by the IEA, OECD, World Bank and OPEC on the energy security, environmental and economic benefits of phasing out subsidies.
