Closer IEA Energy Co-operation with Indonesia

18 June 2009

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the IEA have agreed to work closely in tackling common energy challenges. The MEMR and the IEA signed a letter of intent to initiate a bilateral programme of work (PoW) and foster two-way exchange of information and data. Dialogue between the IEA and MEMR on energy issues started in 2006, culminating in the IEA "Energy Policy Review of Indonesia 2008" that was released late in 2008. The PoW will implement some of the recommendations of the Policy Review. IEA Executive Director Nobuo Tanaka is pictured here with Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, H.E.
