Aiming at a Clean, Clever and Competitive Energy Future: IEA Work in Support of the G8 - Since being tasked by G8 leaders at their 2005 summit in Gleneagles, the IEA has conducted extensive work on improving energy efficiency and accelerating the deployment of new energy technologies. The results of this analysis and specific policy recommendations have been presented to subsequent G8 summits in St. Petersburg in 2006, Heiligendamm in 2007 and Toyako (Japan) in 2008.
