        The IEA fuel economy readiness index is a scoring system combining countries’ implementation of four key policies to incentivise fuel economy: fuel tax, CO₂-based vehicle purchase taxation, labelling schemes, and fuel economy standards for light duty vehicles and heavy duty vehicles.
