Eurelectric Annual Conference

Location and date(s) of workshop:
Barcelona: 16-17 June 2008

Organiser(s): Eurelectric

Background:

The 2008 EURELECTRIC Annual Convention and Conference will focus on the major energy and climate issues facing the European electricity industry today, with specific attention to the European Commission’s recently published third package of energy liberalisation proposals and its forthcoming "green package" of proposals expected in January 2008. In addition, a panel of industry CEOs will provide valuable insights into how the ambitious "20-20-20 EU targets by 2020" for CO2 reductions, energy savings and uptake of renewable energies can be reconciled with the ambitions for a single European market in energy - and with the primordial need for an energy-secure society. A parallel exhibition demonstrating energy-efficient electrotechnologies and processes will attempt to put the spotlight on the industry’s "electrifying future".

As in previous years, the Convention is backed by the International Energy Agency and the World Energy Council and organised in cooperation with a number of our industry partners. It is sponsored exclusively by Accenture.
