| Description | The Government recognises the importance of transmission infrastructure to connect new large scale renewable projects expected to come online in coming years. The Connecting Renewables Fund (CRF) will invest AUD 1 billion over the next decade in electricity networks to facilitate connecting renewable energy projects to the grid. The CRF aims to accelerate the development of transmission infrastructure that supports the connection of renewables generation that otherwise would not proceed without Australian Government support. Investments will be through co-contributions with governance arrangements to be consistent with the national energy market framework. |
