| Description | Designed to help Czech Republic comply with implementation of the European Union Directive 2001/77/EC on the promotion of electrity produced by renewable sources, the Law on the Support of the Production of Electricity and Heat from Renewable Sources entered into force on 27 April. Requiring power distributors to buy electricity and heat from producers using renewable, nonfossil sources and hydroelectric plants at predetermined prices, the law also guarantees initial prices, adjusted for inflation, for 15 years. |
