Description The research and grant programme is designed to increase the commercial tractability of intermittent electricity generation sources such as wind and solar and improve their contribution to the power market. The programme will consider support for projects demonstrating batteries, electro-mechanical and chemical storage technologies in either on-grid situations, or off-grid situations that could lead to on-grid usage.

The programme is now closed and funding has been fully committed. The programme has awarded funding to five projects.
