Description On 12 August, 2003, the Government of Canada announced the investment of $25 million from Budget 2003 for the extension of the Renewable Energy Deployment Initiative. This program was initiated in 1997 with $12 million funding over three years, and focuses on promoting renewable energy systems for space and water heating and cooling, such as active solar hot water systems, active solar air heating systems, high efficiency biomass combustion systems, and ground-source heat pump or earth energy systems.
