| Israel has limited hydrocarbon resources. However, it has located commercial quantities of gas in the offshore region of the Mediterranean which is currently being exploited for power generation and gas-based industry. A gas grid is under development for when Egyptian gas supplies arrive from late-2008, with some hope also to diversify supply sources. An LNG terminal and a subsea pipeline from Turkey feeding in Russian and Central Asian gas are both under consideration. | ||||||||
