Yemen is struggling to increase its oil production and redress field maturity at some of its older facilities. This effort is being led by foreign investors, focusing on existing fields as well as exploration prospects in the onshore and offshore area. The country is poised to make a greater impact on the international gas markets in the near-term, with the arrival of the long-awaited Yemen LNG project. This will also provide some of the infrastructure and investment necessary to develop gas for domestic use and help displace oil product imports.
