(applies to Online Data Services, IEA Statistics CD-Roms and Monthly Oil Data Services)
For the purposes of these terms and conditions ‘subscriber’ means the individual or organisation that has purchased a subscription or a CD-Rom from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the term ‘user’ means any individual user who accesses any of the Online Data Services or Monthly Oil Data Service (MODS) via the IEA website by virtue of such subscription or through the purchase of a CD-Rom (‘Data Services’).
- Use of any data or statistics that the IEA provides via its online services on the IEA website or via CD-Rom (‘IEA Data’) constitutes an agreement between the IEA and the subscriber as well as the subscriber’s and each user’s acceptance of the following terms and conditions.
- IEA Data is subject to copyright by the OECD/IEA. The subscriber is responsible for any breach of copyright it or its users may commit.
- Portions of the IEA Data may contain material or information copyrighted by a third party. If the subscriber or its user(s) wishes to reproduce any such material, it must obtain the necessary permission from the copyright owner.
- The subscriber and its user(s) may not sell any of the Data Services.
- A given user may access the Data Services and download the IEA Data for internal purposes only.
- A subscriber and its user(s) may issue a public statement based on a given data point within the IEA Data, provided such statements are issued on an infrequent and occasional basis and provided that all such material or information is clearly attributed to the IEA.
- A given user may not give his/her password to any other individual.
- To the extent that the subscriber has purchased a single-user licence to the Data Services, the single-user can:
- download the IEA Data for his/her individual use only; and
- if a password has been provided, access the Data Services online with his/her individual password.
A single-user license does not allow the user to publish the Data Services or any IEA Data on his/her organisation’s intranet.
- To the extent that the subscriber has purchased a multi-user licence to the Data Services:
- if a password has been provided, the subscriber will ensure that the number of users to whom it gives a password to the Data Services does not exceed the number of users provided for in the license that the subscriber has purchased from the IEA;
- if a password has been provided, each user may access the Data Services online with his/her individual password;
- in relation to MODS, only if the subscriber has purchased a license for more than 50 users, the subscriber may make MODS and the related IEA Data available on the Subscriber’s intranet and distribute the password within the Subscriber’s organisation.
- in relation to Online Data Services, only if the subscriber has purchased a license for more than 10 users, the subscriber may make the Online Data Services and the related IEA Data available on the Subscriber’s intranet and, if a password has been provided, distribute the password within the Subscriber’s organisation.
For the purposes of these terms and conditions of use, the term “organisation" does not extend to affiliates, subsidiaries, sister or parent companies without the prior written permission of the IEA.
- For any other use of the Data Services or any IEA Data, including but not limited to the publication or transmission of portions of IEA Data to any third parties via any medium, the subscriber must obtain the prior written authorisation of the IEA. The prior written permission of the IEA should be requested by completing an IEA Permission Request Form
