Electricity
Electricity shows final consumption and trade in electricity (which
is accounted at the same heat value as electricity in final consumption;
i.e. 1 GWh = 0.000086 Mtoe). Gross electricity production is measured
at the terminals of all alternator sets in a station; it therefore
includes the energy taken by station auxiliaries and losses in transformers
that are considered integral parts of the station. The difference
between gross and net production is generally calculated as 7 per
cent for conventional thermal stations, 1 per cent for hydro stations,
and 6 per cent for nuclear, geothermal and solar stations. Hydro
stations' production includes production from pumped storage plants.
